WHAT: Planners from various sectors within the practice will discuss how their organizations have planned for and responded to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PANELISTS:

  1. Kathy Lay, Executive Director Main Street Roswell, will discuss ways Main Street Roswell is supporting businesses within their organization during the COVID pandemic including business resources /assistance efforts and the transition to virtual events.
  2. Elizabeth Halpin, Senior Planner / Manager at Albuquerque Public Schools Capital Master Plan. Ms. Halpin served on the APS District’s reopening logistics and operations committee and will discuss the process the district has undergone to ensure the safety of their students, including the planning processes, criteria, and implementation for re-opening schools. 
  3. Jane Lucero, AICP, AAE, Albuquerque Sunport Associate Director of Operations/Planning, whom will discuss how COVID changed the airport industry, Sunport operations and new operation protocols and protecting our own employees as well as the traveling public. 
  4. Sixtus Dominguez, Rarámuri/Apache Tribal Injury Prevention Program Coordinator, will discuss The Albuquerque Area Southwest Tribal Epidemiology Center’s tribal support, response and activity during COVID-19.
