Sarita Nair, JD, MCRP – Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Albuquerque
Sarita Nair was appointed Chief Administrative Officer by Mayor Tim Keller in December 2017. As CAO, Sarita is the City’s top senior executive manager, overseeing all 19 departments of municipal government and a budget of over $1 billion. Sarita earned her bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University, a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico School of Community and Regional Planning, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
Stephanie Rodriguez, MCRP – Acting Secretary, New Mexico Higher Education Department
Stephanie Rodriguez is the Acting Secretary for the New Mexico Higher Education Department. She previously served as Senior Policy Advisor to Governor Lujan Grisham, focused on policies and issues surrounding education, military affairs, and the national laboratories. Rodriguez earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of New Mexico’s School of Architecture and Planning, where she is a former provost fellow and guest lecturer.
Renee Villarreal, MCRP – City Council, City of Santa Fe
Renee Villarreal is a multi-generational Nueva Mexicana. She has deep roots in northern New Mexico, but grew up in Santa Fe. She is deeply committed to place-based community work around equity, social and economic justice, and self- determination. Renee has a Masters in Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico, with a focus in rural community development and civic engagement.
The event will kick off with a welcome from the Community & Regional Planning Department followed by a panel discussion and Q & A session for the audience.
