The Associate Planner position is responsible for a wide range of both development review and long-range planning projects with an emphasis on Development Review work. Responsibilities include the review and analysis of land development applications including: The review and related follow-up work related to Building Permit review and Certificate of Occupancy inspections; preparation of staff analysis of and recommendations relating to land development requests; preparation of written, verbal and PowerPoint presentations of findings to Planning Commission and Town Council; performing other current development review functions as assigned. This position will have a great deal of public contact including answering questions in person, via email and over the telephone including providing assistance and information to business organizations, applicants, and the general public.
This position prepares technical reports, presentations, and recommendations to the elected and appointed officials, task forces, and community groups. This position also performs a wide range of diverse long range planning projects including, but not limited to: master plans; transportation planning; trail and open space projects; feasibility studies; redevelopment and enhancement projects; consultant agreements; citizen participation activities; and grant development.
